That is the good part.

BUT the bad part is the house is still leaking. At least I'm past the cussing part.
The patio door is leaking still along with one of the south windows and the west door.
Hubby found where the chinney is leaking. That at least is not leaking as bad. Just needs to seal around the flashing with some sealant.

Enough is enough.
I called our builders. Going to let them find where it is leaking and fix it. Let the pro's do it. I have caulked, siliconed and chinked every single area I could even think of and it is still leaking.
On a lucky call I found out the guys are somewhere here in Montana on one of the Indian reservations putting up a building.
Bad part is there is no cell service. I left a message. Now it is just waiting to hear back from them.

Finding the actual leak is the hard part. Fixing it is easy.

At least once we get the porch around the house that will help, but not now.
Since I cannot find the leak, figured our builders can.

Glad we do not have the sheet rock on the ceiling. The ones that would have been around the stove pipe would have been ruined.

Heard from our builder tonight. He is over 250 miles away or he would come up and help us out, but he did tell me how to stop the doors from leaking.
We need to take some sheet metal or tin and slide it under the thresh hold of the doors. He said bend it so it drops over the edge of where the doorway stops. We are to remove the edging on both sides of the doors and bend the tin up under it and then silicone where it meets the wood.

As for the window he suggested to look around it and remove the silicone and caulking and reseal it with chinking.

It is raining again. Chimney is no longer leaking so that leak is taken care.
Next problem is to fix the door thresh holds. I'm off today and this weekend. Going to see what I can do with that window and the doors I can reach.

Called Pella. Going to have them come remove all 5 doors and put a seal and thresh holds under the doors and re-install them.

It would be our cost.
MIGHT have found where it was leaking. Hubby took a little pipe cleaner and started poking around the edges of the doors. He found where the metal trim on the door meets the theshold and he could poke the cleaner all the way through. I'm going to silicone it tomorrow and see what happens.
Hopefully that fixes it. Got my fingers crossed.

One of the advantages of living in a dry climate... it only leaks when it rains and since it doesn't rain much it also doesn't leak much, now to convince my wife of the fact...

Think posoitive - better to find the leaks now rather than after the house is finished. As in many things - details are the key. Little things like flashing make a big difference. Good luck. I built a house for the first (and hopefully last) time last year and drove the contractors and sub contractors nuts with checking details. You have to be forceful and speak up. Don't be bashful. You are paying for a quality job and have a right to expect things done right. Hang in there. The results will be worth the grief. Don't settle for a poor job or excuses why it could not be done better.

Knersie I prefer the rain over the dry.

Jim I picked up a couple premade thresholds for the north and west doors. Going to measure the east and south door areas that need to be covered and see if I can get a couple more for them.
Darn cold today so I did not get it sliconed, suppose to be warmer tomorrow. Really want to get it done suppose to rain this weekend again.
When I house wrapped the pony wall I took the wrap up and over those exposed areas and that did help some. Now to see if that one spot is the leaker.
