We have slipped back into moderate drought in central Texas. The rain that fell last night was sure a beautiful sound. Haven't been out to the gauge yet but it was a pretty good one.

Rained here yesterday night and most of the morning, started again last night hard.
I haven't been able to take the mule out of fwd this year in the bottom pastures.
We still had standing water when this system started in.

It's not polite to gloat! We haven;t had rain in a month hand half. The 10 plus inches we got in 3 days a couple of months ago is long gone.

:D Not gloating Dun....just thankful. This rain gets us caught up for January. Got an inch last night so we are at 3 inches for the year. Spring is beginning to show itself.

It was in the 70s here for a couple of days. They stared talking about getting a couple of inches of snow tonight. Now they;ve changed that and we're out of the precip band. Ponds are down a good 4-6 feet, we need some rain again really bad.

I got about 6/10th Sunday afternoon and night and another 1.2 last night. Sure is nice. First measurable rain this year if memory serves me right. Friend farther east got over 2 inches Sunday night.

Right at an inch and a quarter in the gauge this a.m. Then we started getting more today. My boysenberry plants needed a drink - badly. Roses are already blooming. Strange winter we have had.

I haven't looked at the gage, but I think we got around 1 1/2" and it was a slow soaking rain for the most part.
But, more late Spring type temps forecast. Daytime lows not forecast to be below 65F for yet another week.
What happened to the big wind we were supposed to get this morn and late last night?

My roses never stopped blooming--I usually prune them all back in Feb--don't know if I should or not this year.
Red and White Oak trees are budding out--even the old big ones.
B-i-L has his garden all planted already--been too skeered to even plow mine up. 'thunder in february......
