Well that's a good start, I'm hearing we're supposed to get some thundershowers tomorrow around here, hopefully no MORE fires... The recent one that started around here is about 20 miles from the nearest road,.. about all they can do is watch it burn.. Valley has been pretty smokey these days

Good to hear he dry NW is getting some moisture. Maybe this will be the start of wetter times and an end to the fire risks this year--sure hope so.

This, is the first summer in recent memory that my county hasn't had a single day of "burn ban", but it's starting to dry up a little now. I live on the edge of a National Forest--we share a fence on 2 sides, with just a 2 lane farm to market road separating us on a 3rd side, --and fire has always been a fear in the back of my mind..

It woke me up about midnight and rained hard and steady all night. It has slowed to a light drizzle now but the news said some areas got up to a inch and a half. The radar looks like the east side of the mountains got more than we did which is good.

Sunday there were two fires near me but lucky there was no wind so they were brought under control quickly. It was real hot here on Monday so if there had been some wind those fires would have been a disaster.

Monday was a cooker around here too. I got my hay all baled yesterday evening, it is currently drizzling a bit here too.

Rained hard here all day yesterday, things are wet. But we did have lightening all morning long, 8 to noon or so. I can't remember ever hearing the constant roll of thunder for hours on end, no exaggeration, no breaks alway thunder somewhere. Just doesn't happen here. Been cloudy with a few showers so far today. Kathie I would expect you folks can expect more rain, with luck the lightening will stay on this side of the cascades.

Hope it comes our way haven't had a rain since first part of June and its been hot +32c today barley and oats have had it,turned cows into the standing oats Monday as they are getting short of pasture.

We had clouds coming in from the east yesterday, a very rare thing. it is usually where they come from when we get good rains though. I would like to get my bales stacked today if they dry out now

I am proud all of you are getting that good rain. We are still very dry here in Middle GA. Rain is going to the south of us. Farmers are irrigating peanuts and cotton. We got less than an inch Saturday. It helped our pastures and we were truly thankful for that.

We got a little 4 weeks back. Not a bit since. 100 plus degrees days. Grass is brown just about every where. It could use a drink.

Dave and Alan, we've not had any "all day" or "all night" rains. An hour at a time, somewhere between shower and drizzle -- have had a few of those over the last couple days, but nothing major enough that there should be flood warnings out (and there are).

Rained for a couple hours this morning here but still managed to get a load of hay hauled between 6:30 and 8am without getting rained on. Heavy enough to wet the fuels and knock down the dust... and MAYBE green up the grass for a day or two.
