How much did you end up with? It had been raining all week, but Wednesday night we got just shy of 7" in just a few hours. Thundering like it was summertime! A lot of roads were closed yesterday morning due to flooding. Had to go pick my mom up to carry her to doctor yesterday, and saw a pasture on both sides of a creek that was so flooded, all you could see was the top strand of barbed wire. Sunday when I went to my momma's, I noticed his pasture on both sides of the creek were full of cows and babies. He calves January and February. I called him when I got to the doctor's office and was waiting on momma. He said there was some higher ground in both pastures further down the creek that you couldn't see from the road, and they all got up on it Wednesday night. By 11 yesterday , sun was out and shining and the temps got up around 60, but it has turned cold again today. Projected high will be only 42 and it is windy today. But the wind and sun will help dry things out I hope.
Called Scott and he said 3 of our 100 acre pastures across the road from the Kudzu place were flooded, but water goes down fast in that sandy loam down there. He said maybe 2' at the areas closest to the creek. All 3 of those were sprigged with World Feeder and Bulldog alfalfa this fall, so we will have to wait a little while to see how much being underwater hurt it.
36 days til spring...I am so done with this winter!
