15" of frozen rain overnight and still coming down.
Does your frozen rain stack up like snow? Wtf, now that's cold!
It just sheets everything around here.

Sounds like north Alabama. If you don't like today's weather just wait it'll change tomorrow.

Sounds almost like Sand Mtn which is the last tail end of the Appalachian range . We are more a plateau than a mountain. And the Tennessee River runs along the western edge of the Mtn . Ive watched rain after rain follow the river and we never get a drop or split and go north and south of us . Strange but we seem to be in the bullseye for tornadoes over the last several years . I have lived here for over 50 years and we never had tornadoes till about the 2000'sI have lived in a lot of locations and everyone says that, even in Europe and Asia. It's also true in every place. Are we more aware as we age or because we experience more that we can measure storms against. I have had my share.
What I have noticed here in west, TN. is that a storm will either split and go around us or slow and be concentrated on top of us. Odd formations, storms like I have never encountered before.
Woke me up at about 3AM thundering and torrential rain. We had tornado warnings here and surrounding counties, but haven't heard of one touching ground yet. Creeks were out of their banks again this morning. Right now it is in the 40's with high winds and gusts. Went to town about 1PM and it was hard to stay in your lane when the gusts hit.Got another .7 rain last night . Went to the storm shelter about 12:30 and stayed about an hour . Mostly straight line winds .
I've heard that, everywhere I ever lived too. (Except RVN and Cuba)What I have noticed here in west, TN. is that a storm will either split and go around us or slow and be concentrated on top of us.
