The 2inch rain has brought out the rain lillys..We have 3 kinds here,large red,med white, small yellow..very pretty,if of short bloom time------Do you have the same kind of flower where you are?? :)
 
I haven't seen any yet...they are so pretty, to.

Noticed them when I drove in this morning real nice stands in spots..
 
i have scads of the red "spider lily" right now. another rain lily that is large with pink flowers and a short one w/ pink flowers but they dont bloom right now. found some reds in the woods near a big dead tree that had burned long time ago-wonder if they naturalized or if a house was there at some point. going to move them maybe.

The red ones here move real well,you have to not cut the leaves back when the flowers wilt
 
Are these the lillies you've got blooming now Peg? I took these photos where an old farm house once stood way back before my time. In some places these red lillies bloom now through fall and then white ones that look similar will appear later. Anyone now what variety these are? I know they're not true rain lillies.

They are called oxblood or schoolhouse lilies. They always bloom after the first good fall rain - usually right around Labor Day in my neck of the woods.
