we have a railroad motor car 4 person was dougs dads. him and his brother found it a redone it and use to ride on the old abandon rails here.... had a guy wanting to buy it but have no idea what its worth,,, it has a jack under neath so you can jack it up and turn it around... the motor is gone but i hear that wouldnt be much to put one back in.... any one know? or a site that will give me some prices..... thanks rose

i know this those ralroad motor cars are collectables.if everything is in good shape minus the motor.id prolly ask $2000 for it an not a penny less.most people want to buy things they think they can steal.so i dont waste my time talking to them.

We just watched a segment on TV about that very thing. There are people who form clubs that travel on abandoned railways and those cars are in hot demand. Since there aren't any more of them, the prices can be pretty steep. I would do some research before letting it go.

thanks guys, i had never thought about how much it was worth. never thought about selling it.untill now. i did a search and there is several groups out there that ride all over the place on abandon rail road. i found a group in ohio. he is doning so research for me should have to number this weekend i sent him some pic.. he thinks its a rare one... go figure. i would rather sell it to a member of a club of railroad ppl . plus they would give me what its worth far more than some one who has a camp and doest want to walk to the best fishing... my father in law loved the railroad, he would travel for miles just to see a old train run on the tracks. he grew up in a time when rail was the way to get anywhere and bring in supplies .. he knew every old locomotive and where they were from {bless his heart}it may be crazy but i would feel better with it going to someone else who shared his passion for the "iron horse" thanks again for motivating me to do some research.. rose

I am glad to hear you looked into its value. Didn't want you to get rooked out of something that meant a lot to your father-in-law. Good luck and let us know what you finally get for it!
