Hows everyone doing? I thought it may be time to start a new thread.
CP, CB, Kathie, Crazy farm girl ..... Whats the word today?
Im having a hard go today but still fighting it off.

Good on you, Hook, I know how tough it can be. Still not ready to jump on your wagon, but have cut back a bit more. Have you tried taking and holding in a deep breath when the urge hits? Maybe even two or three. Keep it up, you guys are a month ahead of resolutions.

Not a bad deal, but you might look into low fat like rice cakes. OR, if you want more flavor, try shredded cardboard! Yum! It gets better, so I hear.

Wintergreen Lifesavers got me through it without gaining 50 lbs. It took the urge to smoke away and gave me a slight bit of sugar to curb the urge to eat.

I was talking about you all to my Daughter in Law and Sister in Law yesterday. I told them that if you folks and I could do this that they could too. They are both still smoking and have had many false starts to quit but haven't been able to get it done. Hope they were encouraged. I know how hard this is and am proud of anyone that can do it!

WELL>>> I was doing good up until Friday! I have not gone cold turkey but had cut WAY back. Then Friday morning all holy he77 broke loose..was one of those anything that could go wrong did!! Needless to say I don't deal with stress well. By friday afternoon I was ready to rip someones head off. Friday night told myself it would be better tomorrow and I'd get back on track. Unfortunately my bad luck streak continued throuh the weekend and isn't over yet! GRR :help: :bang: I need to get back on track everytime I turn around it's something else, I'm hoping today will get better. I'm going to get my chit together and get back on the wagon!

Hope everyone else is doing better than me :frowns:

mind over matter......
you have to make your mind believe that you do not want to smoke.
when the urge strikes you have to will yourself to overcome it.
use all the cruthces you want or can find but they are only aids......
you have to decide you are going to quit.....
and you have to live up to your decision.....
it is not easy.......

but as my daddy use to tell me every time I hit a difficulty.....

"He77 boy, if it was easy, anybody could do it."

I had the dispostion of a timber rattler before I quit.

I still do......

and I quit over 12 years ago.....

but then some say I was not all that nice when I smoked either.....

I think they are just jealous that I quit. :cowboy:

I was like Mark Twain....quitting smoking was easy....I did it a hundred times....giving up the chaw was hard....I had a wad of Browns Mule or Bloodhound or Mickey Twist and if times were tight I would resort to apple, in my mouth sunup to sunset for well over forty years. I never liked dip but I have friends that have told me giving that up was torture.

I used to enjoy a nice cigar as well and have had a yen for one for a while but I am not going to open that door again. :bang:

Well monday will be 2 weeks for me. Believe it or not.
Getting easier everyday. But i still get a hankerin for one several times a day.
I havent been easy to live with no matter how hard i try.

I thought you had been kinda bitchy lately. hahaha
Good for u. U have got it whipped. I have been quit since July 22 and I still want one often. Just dont give in.

Haha. Ive got this licked. This time is much easier than last time i quit.
But dont forget that down here if we get 4 freezes a year its a lot

Worse thing is I really enjoy a good cigar but afraid to try one. Not going to take a chance of starting again.
At what temp do the gators quit moving? Do they just bury up in the mud or what?

I used to enjoy good cigars roo. I have a customer that was a cuban ball player. He has family that there that get me the really good ones. But thats done for me now too.
Gators dont bury up. Theyll just move slow and bake in the sun on the banks to warm up. Water here usually doesnt get below mid 50's
