I feel stupid and scared to ask this question, but here goes. What is the difference between Simmental and Hereford cattle?

1st off welcome.2nd no question is a dumb q.simmentals are a bigger framed heavier cattle.herefords are red an white face.an they come in horned an polled.herefords are a smaller framed cattle.

Herford will always have the same color pattern. and like bigbull said will be smalled framed. The simmentals will be more musclar with less fat and marbling. Also will have more open color pattern. Simmental folks and herford folks will get on here and give you the finer points. Welcome to CT boards.

Hereford are English cattle
and Simms are Euro, two different sub-species
