I've never used the newer generation herbicides. I need to kill both tall buttercup and horsenettle. Since they grow different seasons does any have experience in timing this since I can only spray once a year. I'll want to reastablish my clover fast as possible. Though about fall spraying. But not sure it will knock down the horsenettle this late.

Where I buy chemicles at here in town, told me it definatly would kill the horse nettle. I passed on buying it because the drought last year killed out some of my fescue. I let the seeds drop, and I didn't want to interfere with them germinating. We've had so much rain, I think my pasture might have actually reseeded itself.

It may. My thinking is get the nettle now since its harder to kill and hope the residue left will take out the weaker buttercups as they sprout. But mature horsenettle is the toughst to kill. Just wasn't sure it would work that way.

I use a Grazon and Remedy mix to wack the norse nettles. The residual will be long gone by the time the butrercups start again. If you wait until the buttercups get started the residual will be gone by the time the horsenettles get started.
One thing to keep in mind is that it took several years for the pastures to get full of weeds and you aren;t going to be able to fix them in just a year

Grazon P+D at a rate of 1qt/acre will give you excellent results on horsenettle.

That's the answer I was looking for dun. Wasn't sure at all about the residual effects legumes can't be planted for so long. Thanks.
