I've been pricing Kubota tractors and i'm wondering if the local dealers are in the ballpark.

M5140 4wd FEL $26500

M6040 4wd FEL $31300

M7040 4wd FEL $32900

I'm in East Tn and not scared to travel a little for a better deal.

Thanks for any info.

well i just bought a new 7040 HD SU ROPs 4x4 1153 loader for $16,250 an my MX5100 HST 4x4 ROPS.total cash price was $34,250.is your price with the hydrolic shuttle.my tractor listed for $41,000 on the kubota build your on site.as i have 2 set of remotes.

you dont want the 5140 or the 6040 as they are on the mx type of frame.an the frame isnt that heavy.

If he's in northeast Tennessee he's darn near there already.

oh i was gonna give him a dealer thats pretty reputable here but may be like a 8 hr ride though lol

I'm in between Knoxville and Bristol. I started looking at the MX5100, but was told it was not stout enough. The quotes I got were not for the hydrostatic. Sky, i'm around Greeneville, TN, How far is that from you?

Thanks

6hrs is what google maps said. Too far ?

Bought a 7040 in 2008 was in the $28,000 range then with loader, shuttleshift and 4wd. Been a good tractor, just make sure to buy the size you need.

i ran a mx5100 HST 4X4 with fel for 2.5yrs.an i loved it.we started baling our own hay again an bought a big 567 JD baler.an the mx5100 was pulling a hay hauler with 4 5 by 6 bales plus 1 on the loader.an that was all the tractor wanted.thats why i traded for the 7040 HDC su.

Thanks for the replies! I've been using an International B414 for several years, but need something a little bigger. I'm wanting to get a small round baler and that would be a stretch for the IH on these East TN hills. Plus I'm kinda getting tired of backing big round bales into the field, lol.

Yea, an 80hp tractor would be as small as I would go. I know a guy that pulls a 4x6 baler on a lot of hills around here with a 7040, it works but not great.

I thought Green county was flat :D I think that 107 from crossroads to Tusclum is some of the nicest farm country in the country. I am just up the road in Carter co.

Are you pulling the 567 with the 7040?

:lol2: I read that the same way the first 3 times. But after going back over the post I think he is just hauling with the 7040. I may be wrong and if I am I am impressed that a 70hp tractor is running a 5x6 baler!

Have you considered the M100X? It is a real tractor(not a toy) that should handle any baler that you decide to purchase. Those light tailed 40 series might take you for a ride down those east TN hills.
