Question about coffee

Coffee does that to me. I can even get tunnel vision if I drink too much. Chase it with two shots of Very Old Barton.
I keep Very Old Barton at the farm for that purpose. It also can be used to treat other ailments. You would be surprised how many malidies you can treat with it.
Caffine is a vasoconstrictor/ethanol is a vasodialator. So the alcohol gets you right back where you were.

I seriously doubt it is an obstruction but you should have it checked. I am not kidding about coffee making me light headed. My dad had the same condition and he lived to 90.

PS: BTW if you are adding sugar the combination of sugar and caffine is powerful and it can quickly lower your blood sugar levels because together it fires-up metabolic rate and decreases blood sugar. I have mild benign hypoglycemia and when I drink a combination of sugar and caffine, I get a high followed by a rapid low including light headedness and tunnel vision.

Sounds like you're following in the footsteps of Elvis.

You can lead a horse to water, you can't make him drink. I use the urgent care myself, every 6 months. I need blood pressure medicine. Wal-Mart sells what I need for $4.00 a month or 3 months for $10.00. When it comes to blood pressure don't try to fix it all at once, just work towards your goal. The best thing for me is no more headaches, because of my blood pressure being to high.
What do they charge you for one of those visits? Do they do blood work? Thanks in advance

Coffee is about my only means of hydration other than a glass of iced tea at the evening meal (the only one I usually eat). I drink a couple of pots of coffee every day, with the last cup right before I go to sleep at night. Age 64 and other than for a snakebite about 3 years ago, I haven't needed to see a doctor in over 30 years. I never drink plain water (or soda water). Can't stand the taste of water--never could--probably because I know what fish do in it.

To be completely 100% honest so there isn't any confusion other than eating better and so and so on, that's as far I'm willing to go.
First I'll just quit coffee and drink more water
Snuff is on the quit list
Attempt a healthier diet, exercise and etc
Anything else isn't an option

But I do appreciate everyone's time and effort

If you have plugged arteries and you hit the exercise program might want to pay for your marker in advance.
Knew a fellow sounded just like you lived about a mile through the woods from me. Spent a many a day hunting with
him. They found him in his garden he laid in an old folks home for over two years before he finally died.
So his family had to struggle to take care of him those last couple of years.
Just because you refuse to get things checked out got to remember your not the only one always effected.

If that's the symptoms, then I am too. I drink coffee and on rare occasions have sweets, but I have to be careful with both. I also keep a handy bottle as an "antitoxin".

My brother had a stoke in his mid-forties. He should be dead. You usually die from a total basilar artery occlusion. His arteries showed no abnormal arteriosclerosis. The physician who treated the total basilar artery occlusion sent him to the world reknown Cincinnati stoke center. A team of 4 Doctors who study stokes determined the primary factor causing his stoke was Leiden Factor V Polymorphism Mutation. It was found that mom and dad are both heterozygous for Leiden. Each of the siblings were genetically tested. Two were homozygous positive, two were heterozygous positive and one was homozygous negative (Me).

The only reason he is alive, is because there was enough co-lateral blood flow to keep him alive. In time, he has built more co-lateral flow to pick up where the basilar artery no longer provides blood. He is on a blood thinner but one of the commands he was given was to drink plenty of water. The Doctor said, “The best blood thinner is water and staying hydrated.”

My father followed the same path you are on. He died at 90. He would brag about not drinking water. But as he hit his 80s, it began to take a toll. He got urinary tract infections. They became chronic. He was often on antibiotics and he finally died of Clostridium diffincle. The chronic use of antibiotics destroyed the natural balance of biota in his GI tract.

The nursing home followed a policy of taking him water and staying until they were sure he drank it. He went into the hospital a dozen times in his 80s because of dehydration. I took him the last couple of times and the Doctor told me his bones were even dehydrated.

I could go on and on but just end by saying, "You are not a reptile.” You secrete your nitrogenous waste in a solution of dihydrogen oxide not as a uric acid pellet like a reptile. (I bet you never seen a snake pee) Drink water. Start now and when you reach 100, you will be twice the man you will be if you continue your policy.

I have no desire to live to a mortal 100. I used to think I would live that long, but now am only afraid I might.
I have a twin who is slave to one of those compartmentalized boxes of sorted twice daily pills and two brothers-in-law in the same predicament, with monthly doctor's appointments and those are the extent of their talk in social settings. All three are miserable in their existence.
No thanks.

If you go to the doctors, your coming home with something wrong. The doctors and pharmaceutical companies are in cahoots together. That is to get your insurance money$$. That's what they care about. Every so often someone gets lucky and finds a good doctor, most of the time it's a young doctor before they become corrupt, and learn how to work the system. It cost me $100.00 for a physical Kingfisher.

Everything is not a conspiracy. $100 for a physical is pretty cheap. It cost $20 thirty years ago.

I agree. Not "everything is a conspiracy"! Without divulging too much about what I do for a living, I will tell you there are Doctors, Pharmacies, Nurse Practitioners, Hospitals, ect. that get paid far less for some of their services and medications than what it costs them to provide it to you! Trust me on this. Many are just barely staying a float, and many have already gone under. Many are operating with less staff and less employee benefits in order to keep their doors open to provide a service to you.
Yes, there are always going to be crooks in every business. (We all know there are plenty in the cattle business!) But for the most part, the Government is stripping the Health Care industry down to their under ware!
Most in the Health Care industry today, (that are hanging in there), are taking care of you because that's what they want to do! Not because they are making a fortune off your insurance money!

ALRIGHTY MEN! i have read enough..can't leave ya'll alone for a minute can i? lol go see the DAMN DR. if they want to put you on a dozen pills then you have the right to say no.. the Drs aren't all in cahoots with the drug makers.. but the drug makers "push" the pill of the month club all the time. I had this talk with my daughters Dr. I told them that she will NOT be a part of the snowball effect from meds. He actually agreed. If the doctor gives you a med and you have any side effects that you don't like ..tell them immediately and see if there isn't another you can try until you find one that fits.. only YOUR body will know.. As far as a colonscopy goes.. only a stubborn idiot would refuse to get one done. My x had stage 4 prostate cancer and lived... it was the stage 4 liver cancer that did him in. AND he had no insurance and no money.. Moffett Cancer Center here in Tampa saved him. So there is NO EXCUSE for not getting it done. The American Cancer society is not in cahoots with anyone. They truly can help EVERYONE who needs it. And its really selfish as well to sit here and have tons of people tell you "hey we kind of like you, go get checked out so we can bug you some more" and you IGNORE them. I haven't been here in a while because my laptop is wounded and waiting to be sent for repairs. And now I come back in to see this? Where is my WHIP? *cracks the whip*.. now get on over to a Dr. even a friggin vet could check you out if you wanted... they wouldn't like it tho lol ... Next post i see had better start with ... I went to see the Doc today and..... super big hugs and stop being so stubborn... :cboy:

Dave Barry's Colonoscopy Journal:

I called my friend Andy Sable, a gastroenterologist, to make an appointment for a colonoscopy.

A few days later, in his office, Andy showed me a color diagram of the colon, a lengthy organ that appears to go all over the place, at one point passing briefly through Minneapolis

Then Andy explained the colonoscopy procedure to me in a thorough, reassuring and patient manner.

I nodded thoughtfully, but I didn't really hear anything he said, because my brain was shrieking, quote, 'HE'S GOING TO STICK A TUBE 17,000 FEET UP YOUR BEHIND!'

I left Andy's office with some written instructions, and a prescription for a product called 'MoviPrep,' which comes in a box large enough to hold a microwave oven.

I will discuss MoviPrep in detail later; for now suffice it to say that we must never allow it to fall into the hands of America 's enemies.

I spent the next several days productively sitting around being nervous.

Then, on the day before my colonoscopy, I began my preparation.

In accordance with my instructions, I didn't eat any solid food that day; all I had was chicken broth, which is basically water, only with less flavor.

Then, in the evening , I took the MoviPrep. You mix two packets of powder together in a one-liter plastic jug, then you fill it with lukewarm water. (For those unfamiliar with the metric system, a liter is about 32 gallons). Then you have to drink the whole jug. This takes about an hour, because MoviPrep tastes - and here I am being kind - like a mixture of goat spit and urinal cleanser, with just a hint of lemon.

The instructions for MoviPrep, clearly written by somebody with a great sense of humor, state that after you drink it, 'a loose, waterybowel movement may result'.

This is kind of like saying that after you jump off your roof, you may experience contact with the ground.
MoviPrep is a nuclear laxative. I don't want to be too graphic, here, but: have you ever seen a space-shuttle launch? This is pretty much the MoviPrep experience, with you as the shuttle. There are times when you wish the commode had a seat belt. When you figure you must be totally empty, you have to drink another liter of MoviPrep, at which point, as far as I can tell, your bowels travel into the future and start eliminating food that you have not even eaten yet.

After an action-packed evening, I finally got to sleep.

The next morning my wife drove me to the clinic. I was very nervous. Not only was I worried about the procedure, but I had been experiencing occasional return bouts of MoviPrep spurtage. I was thinking, How do you apologize to a friend for something like that? Flowers would not be enough.

At the clinic I had to sign many forms acknowledging that I understood and totally agreed with whatever the heck the forms said. Then they led me to a room full of other colonoscopy people, where I went inside a little curtained space and took off my clothes and put on one of those hospital garments designed by sadist perverts; the kind that, when you put it on, makes you feel even more naked than when you are actually naked.

Then a nurse named Eddie put a little needle in a vein in my left hand. Ordinarily I would have fainted, but Eddie was very good, and I was already lying down. Eddie also told me that some people put vodka in their MoviPrep.

At first I was ticked off that I hadn't thought of this, but then I pondered what would happen if you got yourself too tipsy to make it to the bathroom, so you were staggering around in full Fire Hose Mode. You would have no choice but to burn your house.

When everything was ready, Eddie wheeled me into the procedure room, where Andy was waiting with a nurse and an anesthesiologist. I did not see the 17,000-foot tube, but I knew Andy had it hidden around there somewhere. I was seriously nervous at this point.

Andy had me roll over on my left side, and the anesthesiologist began hooking something up to the needle in my hand.

There was music playing in the room, and I realized that the song was 'Dancing Queen' by ABBA. I remarked to Andy that, of all the songs that could be playing during this particular procedure, 'Dancing Queen' had to be the least appropriate.

'You want me to turn it up?' said Andy, from somewhere behind me.

'Ha ha,' I said. And then it was time; the moment I had been dreading for more than a decade. If you are squeamish, prepare yourself, because I am going to tell you, in explicit detail, exactly what it was like.

I have no idea! Really! I slept through it! One moment, ABBA was yelling, ‘Dancing Queen, feel the beat of the tambourine,' and the next moment, I was back in the other room, waking up in a very mellow mood.

Andy was looking down at me and asking me how I felt. I felt excellent. I felt even more excellent when Andy told me that It was all over, and that my colon had passed with flying colors. I have never been prouder of an internal organ.

IABeef that was awesome! I am a Nurse, and the other term we use for the MoviPrep is COLON BLOW!
It really is no big deal if you are anesthetized! I however, stayed awake through mine just to watch the camera. A Nurse's entertainment! Would not do that again.....

My Doctor has been telling me for three years that I must have a colonoscopy. I cannot make myself go in for the procedure. I have a mental aversion to having medical procedures performed on me. It is a terrible phobia. I pass out when I have blood drawn. I don't know what I will do if I don't get run over by a cow or tractor because I have seen how much mom and dad have gone through when they hit their high 80s and early 90s. Seems they are always doing something to them. I agree with GB to some extent, it is a curse to get too old!

GB just depends on your condition my Great Grandma lived to be 105 spry as she could be.
Worked liked a rented mule all her life went to bed one night didn't wake the next.
Doesn't get any better. Her daughter my grandma went at 92 getting both legs cut off due to complications
from diabetes. My point is you never know whose DNA in the woodpile you picked up.
Our DNA was written at the time of conception so we don't get to pick how we go either.

My aversion is an early casket or urn, so I get regular checkups and procedures when needed. Everyone oughta.

Get over it Inyati or the next procedure might be done by the mortician.

I can't see how one person gets cured and the other dies, and they both had the same treatments. The one that died really had cancer, and the one that lived, either had a false positive or had smoke blowed up his rear. The part I don't like is the person that checked out good that dies down the road with cancer. Did they get cancer from the tests?? I just see where there's alot of MONEY in cancer, be it in treatment, or looking for a cure. You add money to the pot and it turns black prety dang fast. Cancer Sucks, I think they have the cure now, but won't put it out there.$$

So the same logic applies to heart attacks? That apply to the flu as well and a long list of others?
Why does one die and the other doesn't.

I don't see it that way CB. Blood pressure medicine lowers everybody's blood pressure, some medicine has different side affects. The same flu shot works for everybody. Look at all the vaccines that work for everyone. But chemo and radiation only works on some and not on others. And it doesn't seem to matter what brand of cancer it is, it cures some but not all?? We're all humans cut from the same cloth, what's good for one should be good for the rest. Come on I just don't see it. We can grow and clone humans from a test tube, but can't cure cancer?? Yea right.
