Why does the Queen always have to wear a hat?

Is it just formal?
Is it tradition?
Is it to hide her royal baldness? :)
Is it to protect her sensitive young skin? :P
Is it to keep her in style? :o

No disrespect intended......just curious :D

I don't think I've ever seen a photo of a Queen, King, or other inherited or self-appointed ruler ever smiling or laughing... ;-)

Must be a nasty job...but guess someone has to do it...

At least Diana looked and acted like a real person! The world needs more of the Diana's!

:lol: :lol: The crankyness is probably due to all the pins stuck in her top to help keep the hat in place! As far as their game face?....It has to do with their smile...dentistry is not well refined in some countries... :lol: It would kinda be simular if Arkansas had a Queen I would think! :lol:
 
By the way Chrisy, it's ok to talk about why our countries leader "doesn't" wear a cowboy hat..even though he claims Texas as his home, and owns a ranch. :)

no ofence taken I have not been on the computer for a day, and as soon as I saw this logged on. I am not a Royalist and think they are, excuse the pun, old hat and should go, parasites I think the word is that comes to mind. don't know why she wears a hat, suppose the people that dress her in the morning think it looks good. The crown would be to heavy to wear all of the time and the expense of all the Security would be exorbitant.

Queen's don't smoke cigars who told you that? I have seen Elton John with a cigar in his hand.

Elton John stood in line to buy Tammy Wynette's biography. She was in England on a book tour. He asked her to sign "From the Queen of country music to the Queen of England". I think that's true. Not sure where I heard it.
