This year I am ai ing 1 time. I have 4 cows that will be 34 to 36 days post calving when I ai. I am I going to do more harm than good if I try to ai them? My cut off is typically 40-45days

You won't do any harm. If you use cidr's you might even do good.

I'm with CP and yourself, I try to give the cows 45 to 60 days, but I know that's a tuff window to hit. No harm in trying if you have a cleanup bull or willing to send them through again.

Gus, I'm not quite clear on your situation: Do you only have 4 total cows or do you have more just there are 4 that will be 5 weeks postpartum when you AI? If you only have 4 total I'd be curious to know what goals you have in mind driving what to me sounds like an aggressive schedule.
