Purchased a Hereford heifer-Windfall-Questions

Hello.
We just bought a lovely June heifer by Windfall. Am interested in folks comments about this sire, and
good and bad things about them. We have all Angus except for this one. Such bone! Such expression in those big eyes with the 2 inch white eyelashes! She's a little posty for my liking, but boy is she a sweet doll.
Would appreciate any comments.

I am guessing your are talking about the Lim-Flex bull "Cole Windfall" ???

I am an Australian Black Limousin & Lim-Flex breeder and was at the Coleman ranch last May and saw a few young 3/4 Limo calves by Windfall (Windfall (50%) over a Pure Limo) These calve seemed to have plenty of expression of muscle and bone to them.
I don't know you desired target end market but i believe using a Lim-Flex sire over Angus cows would give any breeder a performance boost and more weight for age through hybrid vigour and the benefit of Limousin muscle and Yield.
Many cattle producers here in Australia with straight Angus herds are begining to use them as it doesn't dramatically change the type of progeny your marketing like it would if you use straight Limo over Angus but you do get terminal and maternal heterosis which helps for weight gain, feed efficiency and what we call do-ability.

We've been Angus breeders since l996. Using popular sires, we were hit hard by the AM/NH/CA fiasco.
Over time we've eliminated all but a few NH cows who are pets, great cows. I was looking at a hereford sale on-line, considering a bull to use as cleanup after AI. The bulls I liked were mighty pricey, ended up buying this heifer, guess it was an impulse buy. Now I need to figure out who to breed her to. The only hereford lines I am familiar with were the "Victor Dominos" of about 40 yrs ago. Got some studying to do!

Stupid ME- It's a Wideload heifer!
We bought her sight- un -seen on a sale, why I didn't know the name, don't have the papers yet.

Better breed her to a light b.w. bull. Most of the wideload heifers I have seen cary a hefty b.w.

Wideload is a very good bull, but as said, he throws big calves. So just an opinion, start your heifer off with a very easy, proven low birth weight bull ..... Like Feltons Legend, easy semen to find and AI techs as well. But there are many low calving weight bulls out there. If you're going to breed with Hereford, legend is a great bull with proven records, but if not just help your self out at calving time and go with a VERY low weight calving bull. As she gets older and has a calf or two she can probably handle bigger calves when birthing.

He's proven calving ease. Many reports of shorter gestation using him, yet the calves are vigorous at birth and grow after they arrive.

I believe Genex has sexed semen available from him.

P606 is the best female sire I've seen in a long time. We are using 2 sons of him and started calving daughters this fall. Best first calf heifers thats been here in 60 yrs of breeding cattle. They are both out of 71I daughters. UDDER QUALITY UDDER QUALITY UDDER QUALITY AND MILK MILK MILK! But if this is her first calf and I wanted to take some BW out its hard not to choose 719T OR REVOLUTION
