on another thread Iso made comment of his pup/young dog chewing, has anyone else had this problem with their pups?
My Lab Tessa who I rescued was a devil for chewing things up, she ate a hole in a matress, a sofa, a hall and stair carpet, toilet rolls would be all over the house, she would grab the end and run, (first time she did it it was funny) mail and newspapers would be opened by her first if I couldn't get there fast enough, she could get into the fridge and freezer, she done that three times and ate her way through two whole rumps, 5lb of prok chops, a ham and a load of other stuff, (not all in one go) One time I came home from work and she was rolling around the floor stomach extended where she had eaten the contents of the bin. on advice from the vet, I had to get her in the garden and pour salt water down her throat to make her sick it out. I left her outside one time when I went out as I couldn't bare to face what she might do and she managed to come through a glass door and raid the freezer, how she never cut herself to pieces I don't know. After that my Dad came around and fitted solid wood doors around the house with key locks, and put polished wood floors down and removed what was left of the stair carpet and painted the stairs, that put pay to her antics, he knew it was futile to say to me to get rid of her, and I know he loved to. and for all of this she has been gone for more than 20 years and I still miss her and wont ever get another dog as I feel it is betraying her memory, strange bod I am sometimes, and I am more into my Cats now, much to my Sons annoyance as he would like a dog, when he has his own home he can have as many as he likes I tell him.
