Pumpkins (biggest, weirdest, best carved....)

This is why I never grew pumpkins. Was afraid in what kind of obscene shapes they would end up.

Years ago a man I was working with and extension did a fertilizer experiment using pumpkins. When they were all through I got 5 or 6 pickup loads of pumpkins which I fed to the cows. I would toss them into the feed bunk and then walk along with an axe and break them open. The cows loved them. The cows were orange half way to their eyes. The next spring I had volunteer pumpkins out in the field.

Big event at our little k-12 school each year was my Anatomy classes yearly pumpkin dissection. . I had years of patterns and bought the latest ones , plus the kids got them off the internet. I also had lots of carving tools to work with . After we would light them up and the whole school would walk through my lab and classroom to see them . Had some budding artists in my classes over the years

That is some artistic talent there! My kids really got into it one year because we got a pickup load of free pumpkins. I recall using a modified hacksaw blade with Vice-Grip handle for this one. Kids named this one "Hack-o-Lantern"
