Productive day !!

Caught 6 hogs in the traps and shot 2 in the woods.
They have completely destroyed 8 5x6 bales of wheat in 2 days. :mad:

That is better than we are doing. We catch a single boar in our trap every two weeks or so. We haven't caught multiple pigs for at least 6 months. I guess boars are on the bottom end of the spectrum when it comes to being trap weary.

Normaly I see them run in herds of 20 or more. Sometimes I'll see one by itself or a sow with several little pigs.
They come and go. I might see some everyday for a month then go a month without seeing any.
But usually everyday you see some signs that they have been there the night before.
On my trail cam when they we're destroying my wheat hay, they were coming about 5:30 in the evening and leaving at daylight the next morning.

Build a big trap out of panel that the whole herd can go in and feed.
Wire the door open and bait it and let them feed in it for about a week, then set the door.

CB, one of the most fun times I ever had was when we built a trap similar to the one you mentioned and after trapping 38 hogs we anilated them with two HK G3 308 fully auto's. Nothing but blood and guts left.

We currently have 1 large round trap made out of panels. It was built a few years ago. Early on we caught a group of 17, but now we are catching doubles or singles. We left the trap latched open for about 2 weeks in November, but we still only catch lone boars. A few days ago there were 2 boars in the trap.

You are going to have to move that in a different location.
You didn't get the whole herd. Best way to know is set up game cameras before you set the door to spring.
Lets you see when they all start going in.
I have seen some smart old sows that would take several weeks before they would feed in with the others.
That is what really gives me the red ass feeding a bunch of hogs to catch the last two or three.

I have had pictures on my trail cam of the sow standing in front of the door and not letting her little pigs go in the trap.
