Anyone here use a Tekonsha Prodigy brake box? I've tried half a dozen or more cheaper ones and I'm just about fed up with them. Would like to hear others' opinion of these boxes before I spend that much on one.

best one out there. ny current truck doesnt have one but all the guys i know with em like em. never heard anything bad about em
 
I have the predecessor to this unit and it is ok. My next one will be a programmable unit. I get tired of readjusting for each trailer I have. The programmable ones will remember the settings for each trailer.
 
Never used a Prodigy but have heard a lot of good about them. Best box I ever used was a Drawtite that had a digital display. I could just write the settings down for each trailer and it was good.
 
I installed one for my uncle liked what I saw, and he loves it. I have a older Tekonsha, this is the third truck it's been in and I've never had a problem with it.

I've got three Envoy's now, the one with the front-mounted dial, and they're fine when you first adjust them but seem to want to lose their level. And when you pull a bunch of different trailers it's a crapshoot. Would like to try one of these new ones, but I hate to spend money.

You also might want to look at this one. Jordan Ultima 2020 lots-o-folks swear by it. It has an attached a cable to your brake pedal shaft. They say it gives far better and more even responses than the wire only units. I have no experience with it.
 
I've been using the prodigy for about four years now. It has very smooth braking that matches the braking of the truck. The boost button allows you to adjust for the load without having to reset the controller. This is also handy for different trailers. The brakes on my cattle trailer aren't as sensitive as the brakes on my flatbed. I just hit the boost button according to which trailer I am pulling and how big the load is. The display has a big letter "C" displayed when the trailer is hooked up. This makes it very easy to glance down and be sure the brakes are powered.
