cheapest in best condition aslong as it dont have one of those bucks on it hate paying for over priced parts .but it looks like most of you have more money to waste than i do !

What’s the definition of “primary tractor”. I only have two, but the one I use any given day is dependent on what I’m doing, not the color.
 
We have a Kubota 7040, i believe is the model. Cabbed 4x4. Good strong tractor…and it better be for the cost. Also have a 1984 Long 460 2wd.

Cab is nice in winter, but it's a pain in the arse IMO. Cannot hear equipment. Have to use AC in summer, and I never use AC. Makes the heat harder to tolerate in summer. Plus, I smoke. And that just doesn't work out very well.

I prefer the old Long. It's got its issues. But I can jump off when on steep ground if it starts to go. I'm stuck in the Kubota.

Just throwing in my 2 cents.

In winter though, around here, it would be a nasty mess without 4wd.

I had a cab and sold it hated the thing it was to hard for me to see and hear.
Most of the time I climb on a 1977 model Massey several others have come and gone it is still here.
 
I wonder why I missed this the first time through.

For the record, I'm a Massey Ferguson man.

For some reason I never saw it until today and saw it was closed.

Kubota here, guess it is the primary tractor since it is the only one.
 
Guess I missed the poll, but mine is a probably my JD 3010. Just turned over 6000 hours on the motor and transmission a couple weeks ago.

I've sold off my older smaller tractors in the last few years. Had 4 Case DC's, 2 Fordson Majors, Farmall Super M, Ford 8N, and a JD H.

My main tractor now is a Kubota M126GX with loader used on the round baler, stackmover, and snowblower. Ford 8600 on the moco. Ford 9600 on the rake.

Neighbor keeps the Fords at his place and uses them for winter feeding. I do snow removal with the Kubota. 9600 has a 9' dozer on it which helps a lot in winter, except it won't fit through neighbor's corral gates.
 
Have 3 main tractors that I use. Allis Chalmers 7000 on the mower and rake, Ford TW5 MFWD on the baler and stacks hay on the wagons in the field, and feeds hay all winter. Both have cabs with air and heat. Also have a ford 5000 MFWD with a loader that stacks hay at home, scraps manure, backup feeding tractor, etc. All have their uses and get about equal hours every year.
 
You can't buy tractors like that 77 Massey of mine anymore with regular maintainence that Perkins A4-236 will run forever. That Massey cut, raked and baled hay up to 2011 when I sold my hay equipment along with most of the chores around here. Had to split the case a few years ago and put in a new clutch replaced the original water pump and rebuilt the injectors two years ago. Pretty good for a forty year old tractor.
 
Kubota is the newest tractor so it gets the most use. I've always been a John Deere man and still am. The only things better on a Kubota tractor is it can go in 2wd where the JD has problems in 4wd, and the price. Believe it.
