Bought a clean shedded unit at as estate sale. Grain feeds fine but small seed box is solid. I don't think it has ben used in many years. Sprayed it with penetrant but is still does not turn. Time to soak with diesel or ?

I hate those boxes. Hard to set, finnicky, pia. I blend my seed in with my grain.

If you can get a wrench on the shaft apply a little more penetrating oil and tap the wrench to aid the oil.
Don't make it a ''bigger hammer operation" If you can get it running I think you will be better satisfied with
the stand you'll get, Good Luck..

Keep at it with the penetrating oil/lubricant and keep working it back and forth each day and you will get it sorted. Occaisional bit of jarring wont hurt like a sharp tap on the end of the shaft.
I have an old drill with a small seed box with the tubes dropping the seed on the surface behind the tine and follow with a rubber tire roller, works brilliantly on small grass seed and clovers, well worth getting it freed up.

Not sure how it's made but if you can without burning something up apply some heat.

Good tips. I will get another can of WD40 penetrate, and tap on the end of the drive shafts with a 2# hammer.

Try 50/50 ATF and acetone. Supposed to be the best penetrating oil out there. Liquid Wrench is really good too.
