We have a red angus cow that is technically due to calve about Thanksgiving day. We have not had her pregnancy checked. We bought her bred (AI) with the AI date on the papers.

She looks big and healthy. Her sides are bowed out some. We still have decent pasture (fescue) and I feed 12% creep every other day with minerals and salt free choice. I am concerned that she doesn't look huge 4 weeks out from calving.
I have a few goats and they get so big they have trouble walking.

How should a cow look 4 weeks from calving?

Every cow is a different. She should be slick, a little thicker than her norm on bcs, and perhaps striding a bit different with her back legs (longer deliberate strides perhaps). But all in all, not much different than if she was open and in a pasture. She should start her signs of springing in a couple of weeks or so.

I wouldn't get worried. We had the same questions with ours this past spring. She didn't hardly show any signs and she ended up two weeks past her due date. She'll probably calve when you least expect it.
