The it was easy to make out head, nose and chin. Just needed educated help, oh another nice part it was no charge for the lesson.

Its not hard, just like AI'ing it takes practice. 4+ months its pretty easy, earlier is more difficult, and I personally haven't dared try less than 5 months yet. My neighbor schooled me a while back while she was preg checking our herd in the fall. I think if you do AI, you would be ok to try palpating on later term cows, just be careful and dont "bounce the fetus like a basketball" as some of my friends that were in vet school referred too :)

Learning is not that hard. Being able to be consistent and accurate will take longer.

True, last fall I did our herd myself, but, we also sent in blood to confirm my newbie results, I did good as my findings matched the blood samples results, kinda made me more confident on my skills, might not be a bad idea to try on your first few.?
