Anybody here have any experience with Kellog pointing Labs. I just bought a female puppy from this blood from South Dakota. The breeder, and the bytch came highly recomended, there are Grand Masters on both sides of her pedigree. The breeder is gonna train her until Oct when I get up there to hunt. I think I may be very blessed on this deal.
 
3waycross, no experience with that line, but we have two labs and the younger one points like crazy! Now, she was not purchased as a pointing lab, but she does it and boy is it a riot to watch and hunt behind. Have you done much hunting with a pointing lab?

Yes I have. I have had one for 11 years, but she is from a kennel in Colo called Black Forrest Kennels. They have an entirely different line of Labs. The pointing Labs are a lot of fun to hunt with. They do not behave like an English or GSP but they point most of the time and are still Labs with all the good things that come with that.

Do you hunt upland birds. Don't see a lot of women in the bird fields, and that's a shame it's a great sport.

We had a springer spaniel way back and although he was good at flushing the birds, I have found the labs have better endurance and less issues with coat and feet. JMO

Yes I do, although not as much in the past few years. I also enjoy waterfowl hunting. The fellas I hunt with are always encouraging me to go as I am a horrific shot(nickname is click :oops: ) and they can go ahead and fill out my license. :nod:

We do not see many women in the bird fields here either. Many do deer hunt though.

That's funn about your shooting. I kinda have the same problem. With me it's called cross dominance. Right eye dominant and shoot leftie.

My friends from SD love it. I get even tho. When they come to Colo to hunt Elk I run them up and down the mountains till they puke. It all evens out.

If I can figure out how to post the pic I'll put it up here in the next week or so.
