Pocket Hose Bad Revue

I bought a 50 ft pocket hose for $20 at home depot , the one always advertised on tv, the first time I used it was to hook it to pressure washer, after being hooked up for several hours it sprung a leak and about 10 ft of the hose turned into a soaker hose. Has anyone else had an experience with a pocket hose? :cry2: I will try to get a refund. :mad:

My mom and daughter got one, but I can tell by looking at it that it's not made for real work. Might work to water some flowers but that's about it.

Ibuy craftsman rubber hoses from sears they have a lifetime warranty.

LOL, I saw that ad and thought "no way that thing doesn't leak". There was an ad running heavily on TV last weekend showing a towel (Endura Cool) that you drape around your neck and it keeps you cool. I bought one at Lowes but haven't tested it yet. :roll:

It;s probably dandy for like someone said, watering flowers. I had thought of getting one for such short term uses like hooking to the outboard to keep it cool wile testing it out, filling the bird bath, squirting the wife when she isn;t looking, hand watering the garden. On a farm I can;t think of much else it would be stout enough for.

wife uses one of those thowels but I think hers is called "frog hide" or something like that. They really do get very cool....got two pocket hoses. Work well for watering flowers etc and basically work just like they say but haven't tried them on a pressure washer or anything like that. They carry a lifetime guarantee as well so maybe you can get your money back.

She hates dragging a hose and has back problems so the light hose was great. for a while. It was taking her 2 hours a day just to water plants.

Years ago we had one small (about 5 acres) pasture that was full of star thistle. I got a riding mower from sears that had a bagger on it. I did the same as you're talking about, about once a month I had to take it in and trade it in on one that wasn;t broken. After the 4th or 5th one that got fed up and charged me a 100 dollars to trade in a broken one. I finally just got my money back.

One other short coming of the pocket hose is trying to attach a lawn sprinkler to it. No problem attaching it but you have to turn the water on to get the full length of the hose. That's when you get your a$$ washed down when you try to locate the sprinkler....and it has to be heavy enough to keep the end of the hose from whipping around.
