A friends' eight month old bull calf was seen eating a plastic bag, about grocery bag size. He is eating and looking normal and they have been checking poops to see if it came through. Will it cause him trouble, or what's the liklihood of it passing on through?

It sounds to me like she saw it going down the hatch. Not able to get close and pull it out.

It's a toss up. Could cause problems could pass through could just stay in the guts and not do anything. Only thing to do is keep an eye on it.

Had a calf sneak up and grab an AI glove once. Couldn't get her penned up before she swallowed it. Never had any problems.
