Pink Eye ???

I have two steers that have green discharge from both eyes. Eyes look clear but both have a greenish discharge. Is it pink eye and if so whats the best way to treat it ? Ill try to post pics tommorow when I get home from my other job. What are the first signs of pink eye ? This is my first year with cattle so any sugesstions are appreciated.

I've never seen green discharge with pinkeye, but I have seen it with other pneumonia symptoms, especially if they seem to be getting dehydrated.

The technical name I use for that stuff is "gunk". Sometimes just a simple cold or what used to be described as a "cold in the eye" causes it. With no other signs of problems I'ld just keep an eye on them and not worry.

:o Could be irritation from the round bales. My cows like to really stick their heads in there, and i have noticed on occasion they will have "gunky' eyes. Nothing to worry about.
Pink eye causes severe pain, swelling. ulcers on the eye and
blindness if not treated. :roll:
