He actually doesn't have any feral hogs, yet. I dont either, yet.As long as they don't disappear and join their feral cousins...

want some? I drove by a yard in this subdiv just yesterday that had gotten a nocturnal visit by what looked like a big rototiller. He actually doesn't have any feral hogs, yet. I dont either, yet.
There is no CAB for pork. It is CHAP. Certified Hog's A$$ Pork. And there is no color requirement..... yetIf you want to get CAB premiums, you'll need something homo for black...
Is that pronounced "shap"... like the batwings/stovepipes worn by cowboys when they are working? Or "chap" like an English guy draining a pint at a pub? There is no CAB for pork. It is CHAP. Certified Hog's A$$ Pork. And there is no color requirement..... yet
They might be closer to y’all than ou want them to be. Per the FW folks there are pockets of feral hogs in several places in KY including the Big Southfork National Park area.He actually doesn't have any feral hogs, yet. I dont either, yet.
are all the ***shires preferred breeds?Birkshire Is probably the best tasting. Cross your red with that.
Birks and Yorks are some of the better mothers. Durocs and Hamps will add length (loin)
You know me... I'll probably try some without feed. But will likely do grained pork too. I like to cater to everyone. The breeds you guys mention are the best for fed hogs. I think some like the Red Waddle or Old Spot might be better for pasture pigs with no feed. Im pretty sure he will be selling them hanging weight at a price i can't imagine.
With several products its the program not the product. I might be wrong about clinchvalley86 doing pasture pigs but im betting with his customer base he is thinking about it.
But think of it this way.
He will have very little expense i them if pastured with his cows.
They will root up the cow piles breaking up the fly cycle.
He has the customer base to sell them at 3 times what they would bring otherwise.
Its a win win to have a few
100% That's a perfect picture.Look at post #30, that ''picture'' will sell more pork than any feed. Promote there care and surroundings and very few will ask what you feed. Sell the program that is where the money is.
My wife would get $300 each for registered weiner pigs. Sold them all over the PNW, they went to Oregon, Idaho, Utah, California, Montana and Washington of course. People from Utah showed up in a $60k living quarters horse trailer to pick up a 3 months old boar. One Saturday I castrated 3, 4 month old boars. I shytt you not the next day I had two people wanting registered boars.Look at post #30, that ''picture'' will sell more pork than any feed. I worked with some people from Belgium, and IMO the Belgians have hands down the most knowledge of genetics and breeding, etc. of any country in the world.are all the ***shires preferred breeds?
Yes probably. Plus Durocs and Chestersare all the ***shires preferred breeds?
Mangalista's probably... very wooly/long haired type... slow growing... supposed to be good pork to eat.want some? I drove by a yard in this subdiv just yesterday that had gotten a nocturnal visit by what looked like a big rototiller.
I never really got into raising pork but I helped now deceased brother-in-law with a couple of hairy/wooley looking things once. Manga something.
Ugly, especially when it rained and they got into the mud.
