PETA bleating again

I've not heard of her, but she looks like a young Mick Jagger.
Don't fret about PETA, enjoy the naked interns and B-grade celebrities. Mock them.
Sooner or later, an Aussie version of HSUS will show up and suggest that castration should only be performed with anesthesia and a veterinarian and this should be the LAW. Then you have trouble.

Don't get me wrong I freakin hate PETA and all that they do but, I think we have to give some credence to the fact that there are just a lot of folks who cannot stand to see suffering. Sometimes moreso in animals than humans.
I had an Uncle in Missouri who killed plenty of folks in Korea when he was in the Marine Corp but would just stand there and bawl when we cut hogs. He wanted to give them all shots. I don't think that made him a bad guy.

I couldn't agree more. Here in Australia we have the RSPCA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals). They have their faults but play an important role. They are nothing like PETA which seem (I maybe wrong) to advocate that a mosquito has the same rights as a human being. I can totally relate to your uncle in that I hate dehorning, castrating etc. I find it very distressing but I see it as a necessary thing. Same as when I send my kids to get vaccinated. I find it traumatizing holding them still while someone sticks a needle in their arm but it's for their own good.

We are still allowed to band lambs and calves, but pigs are no longer castrated so the males are slaughtered at lighter weights than in the past to avoid boar taint. Every time you turn around it seems someone is looking over your shoulder ready to criticise everything from (compulsory) ear tagging to vaccinating! Far too many people with access to the farms on this tiny island, I really miss Africa.
