I've got a young heifer that's out of a 3/4 x 1/4 Simbrah cow that showed very successfully a couple of years ago, and a pb Simmental bull.

That makes her eligible to be registered as a 7/8 x 1/8, or a "purebred" Simmental, but she shows too much Brahman influence to be shown in a purebred class.

I think she's a really good heifer... does she have any potential for a junior to show as an ABC? That's the only other option I can see for her.

lol.. " I " can't show her anywhere, as I'm not a junior. I'm interested in opinions because I'd like to find a youngster around here that is interested in showing her.

oh i guess i didnt pay attention to that. i would love to go to texas and show, but no such luck here. hope you can find someone though. it would be a shame to let that little girlie go to waste. she looks like she has a good chance.

I can see why you wouldnt want to show her as a simmental, she would get in trouble with all that extra skin on her neck. I know in MN there is a "Foundation Simmental" class, that you have to have at least 1/2 of Simmental to compete, maybe that would work? Im not familiar with ABC, is it like the "All Other Breeds Class", if it is, I dont know if she would be eligible since technically she is Simmental. Honestly,I would show her in a commercial class. I dont know if its a big deal down in texas, but up here, excess neck skin is a big problem, but if its not uncommon, then she should do fine where ever you put her. Because, in my opinion, she looks great from all other aspects. Contact a local extension office and they might be able to help you as well. Good Luck, and I hope you find someone to show her.

I break her and take her to the Belt Buckle in July and get her classed ABC and get a kid o run with her.

Does she have enough ear to classify ABC, I can't tell from the pic?

One year I saw a Reg. Brangus that someone was trying to get classified and she didn't pass. Something about the shape of the head.

I'm not seeing that much brahman influence by the pic (a little though). I'll take your word for the fact that she exhibits too much. As for her, she is definitely thick and stands pretty correct with lots of bone. The only downfall I can see is that she is shallow made on the side profile, which may change a little with time.
