Pen design

This seems to come up alot here so I though I would show one of our simple corrals, it's on a place that won't run over about 30 pair so we didn't build this one very big. It's 1 5/8 pipe with a 2 3/8 top rail. The demintions are 36x54 and I believe the alley is 30 inches but that may be wrong it's been almost 10 years since we built this one. It's very simple but it's worked well for anything we've ever tried and the 1 and only thing I would change, is I would line the alley with sheet metal, we have on others since then and I like it. Btw the drawing isn't perfect, the corner in the top left isn't really square, other than that it's close though.

I'm special :lol2: naw you know better than that, those are treated 4x6's that we put there a few years ago for a shed that we haven't had time to build yet. That one just wasn't very good, it had a slight curve when we put it there, but over a couple of years it has done what you see in the picture.

When we're working cattle we have panels set up around it. Right now I've just been loading out of it so the panels aren't over there. Your not saying you ever miss catching one are ya? :lol2:

Yep you got it! All the time or I'm pretty good at catching em by the hips! Not to metion when I'm A.I.ing they don't get away and I don't have to deal with the bull trying to help. LOL B&G
