I have an angus cow I had AI'd January 21st which would of put her due around October 30th. She still hasnt calved and doesnt look to be bagging up either. She was preg checked back in July and was on schedule. Should I give her a little more time or is it time to get her to the vet?
 
Get her to the vet. I've had them go over quite a bit before, but they always bagged up well before.

Can you bump a calf? The preg check may have not been accurate or she may have aborted without anyone noticing...I'd head to the vet
 
No bag at all? I would geuss either she got bred on another date, she's open or has a dead fetus in her. If she's starting to bag, even a little I would give her another week. Depending on the breed, normal gestation ranges form 283-289 days. 2 weeks before or after that date is still in the normal range. Some cows don;t really bag until just before or after they calve. But they do have something in the bag.
 
Well she was the first one in the group to be AI'd and everyone else has calved but her, and being 2 weeks past her due date with no bag is what has got me concerned. She looked closer to calving a week ago than she does now, but nothing has happend and Ive observed her quite often. Guess I will get her up and to the vet.

My guess would be she slipped it, has a mummy, or a precervical twisted uterus. Those cows will bag up some then go back down without showing any signs of labor. In nay case you want to know - let us know the verdict.
 
Please forgive my arrogance but, yes it is uncommon for 30 days or more. Unless they were possibly pasture bred.

I know me too. I was coming home dead tired ,but I checked to see about this cow was doing. Nothing ! :mad:
