Out of Sequence Cow

I got one in my small herd (Beefmasters) that is now 4 month behind the others. her track record is she raises a nice calf and they grow well and have bred by 2 years of age.
Her problem she is consistant, calves now for the third year in a row at 12 plus months, first by a week, then by 3 weeks, then 5 weeks, now at least 6 weeks between. so over her life I loose at least one calf, and todays prices that not good.

So should
A I sell now pregnant at 8 months and buy a bred heifer?
B Wait till she calves and sell as a pair in 2-3 months?
C Wait and sell her as bred cow and sell calf separate 6 months from now?

I'd sell her and the calf when you run out of grass this fall. As long as you got the grass I'd let her be.

Here would bring the most dollar with option C. If you found a real good deal on a nice replacement take her to town then, if not what until she'll bring you the most.

I think LRTX1 has it about right.. if you have the extra feed for her, you might as well hold onto her to wean another calf...

Since she's 8 months pregnant, I'd calf her out, sell her around december-january if you have the food, and hold on to the calf until march-april when prices for smaller calves are really good typically

I think if you were gonna sell her private treaty as a registered beefmaster I would go "A".

If you are going to sell her at the auction barn "C" as others have stated.

i sold a 9yr reg cow that was heavy bred because she was 4 months behind calving.if i hadnt of sold her when i did.id prolly sold her in the fall with her calf.
