Last year was a phenomenal year for growing calves up. All these yearlings spent a couple months on some 3rd growth alfalfa we had. They came off that in November and averaged around 730 lbs. We weighed them again in Feb and they averaged around 820, on free choice hay and about 5 lbs of whole oats. I expect that by now they will be mostly over 900 lbs, and we've cut the grain out of their diets a couple weeks ago.

And here is a group of Charx heifers that we have consigned to a bull sale where we get most of our bulls. Mostly Red Angus x but also a little bit of Hereford in a couple of them.
And this one is the 'extra' that we kept in case we lost one or one of them just didn't fit in. She's a pretty nice heifer, but a little smaller than the rest.
