We just added these Shorthorns to our herd. These are our first shorties. They are pure no appendix in them. I don't have the papers yet, so not sure of their pedigree. Any comments? This is an 01 model cow. Her tag says Apollo as the sire.

This is an RB Eagle heifer.

This heifer was sired by a bull named Perfect.

I really like all three of the females. The little bull looks like he is going to be too light muscled though. I can't condemn him from ONE pic without an age attached to it; he could be a bunch younger than what I think but right now (in my opinion) he has "steer" written all over him. Hopefully when he blossoms out he will be a thicker, meatier, heavier boned calf than he appears to be now.

Nice cows.. I especially like the first one also. We had a couple of shorthorns when we were in Illinois.. they were great cattle!

Nice animals. I too especially like your first cow. :D Good work.
I agree on the steer part re. the bull calf too.

It was really tough finding Shorthorns close to us. We drove three hours to pick these up. We walked through the heifer pen and we had three nice ones picked out, but he wouldn't part with all three of them. We had to re-pick after he told us which ones he would let go. A friend of ours who has a mixed bunch of cows wants to buy the bull calf next spring to use on his herd. We will leave him intact and see how he turns out. He wouldn't be breeding any pure shorties anyway. I hope I enjoy this breed as much as I'm enjoying my Herefords!
