Just wanted to shout out to @Mark Reynolds . He was traveling thru NY and took the time to stop in and visit. Obviously, I showed him my show string and herd, then went for a walk thru some of my land. He pointed out all kinds of grasses I never heard of - some good, some bad!! LOL My paddocks are way ahead of me. This has been a very odd spring. Got hay finished a full week before we have ever started. Never mow behind the cows until July - been mowing behind cows for weeks. (heck, we don't start grazing until 1st of June!! and that's normally a fine line between growing enough and TOO MUCH!)
It is really nice to put a face to a "keystroke"!!!

You are quite welcome. @Jeanne - Simme Valley, I just mentioned in another thread, and I probably should have while I was there but I bet you already have it under control. That excess grass needs at least clipped to keep it growing, vegetative, palatable, and a higher plane of nutrition. It was a great visit and your pastures look excellent.

Yup, you crossed the line and do have 'too much' right now. If you have a 'problem', this is the type of problem you want. :)

Yes, we are clipping pastures - gleaning quickly and mowing. Can't keep up with lawn. Needs mowing every 2-3 days. I have OTHER things to do!!!

I don't remember what his handle was. I figured out who it was based on his location which is a valley in eastern Idaho. There probably isn't 2 dozen people living in that valley. And he always signed his comment with his initials. J?G I can't remember his middle name.

I think they just had it this year, but there is a huge bike rally in Laconia every summer. If I get to go to the next one, you want me to come by and take you for a spin? :)
