Mac-

Well, it appears as if our breeders are quantum-leaping into the higher Phenotype brackets! That is a fine, fine bull, well balanced and good depth of body with all the accompanying accouterments to fill out the program plan. 'WAAY better than average cows, and 'chuggy' calves! ;-)

You might take a look at the bull's front hoofs (all of them for that matter). That right front pastern looks like a hoof trim is in order!

All in all - a fine compliment of breeding stock!

Thanks guys: Doc I'll hold him if you will come and do the honors.

We cell graze, Mig they call it, I have two pastures one here at home and another a few miles south. They get rotated so that each cell rests 28 to 30 days. At home we have 15 cells. down south there are just two, but they are big ones. It is worth all the work, we have great grass even through last summer's drought.

Nice bull, good calves and really nice cows. I like the cows a bunch. I may have to move to Indiana. My cows would keel over if they saw pasture like that!

I sure would like to pick on them Mac just hard to find to many flaws it that bunch.
The bull has some mud on him have you thought about washing him. Plus you should pet him also.

I like to scratch his poll in the evenings, but lately I've noticed him shaking his head at me, could that be a problem? :D
Mac- When I was in Ag School at MU, I took a "personal" Field Trip to "Sni-A-Bar Farms" (Shorthorn Sale) at Grain Valley, Missouri. While wandering around in the bull barn, I leaned over the Stall rail and scratched a bull's head between his horns. ZOWIEEE!! The old Scotch Herdsman (FROM Scotland, no less!) descended on me like a Tornado and said (embarrassingly loud    ) and growled in a Scotch dialect heavy enough to tear paint off of a barn door, "YOU-D-D THE-R-R-Edd - - -NEVER-R TOUCH A BO-O-OL ABOUT-T THE HEAD-D!! Yu shoood know better dan dat! MAKES 'EM MEAN! Then sort of 'under his breath', but everyone heard him, he muttered, "Dumb ass kid!" The fact that I had two sons at the time didn't make me any smarter, I guess, or older! But I sure haven't forgotten that incident!! And neither did Professor Weaver, the head of the Beef Department at MU, with whom I had hitched a ride to the sale from school!  :dunce: As I rode back to Columbia, MO. with the Professor and two other Profs. after the sale I sat in abject terror - waiting for the 'Royal Rump Reaming' that I knew was inevitable - ALL the way back to Columbia - - ! It never transpired! But the waiting was worse than the reaming. I fully expected to flunk every Beef Production class that I would ever take again for the rest of my miserable life - and maybe get kicked out of school for being such a "Dumb ass kid!" - - - but - - NO ONE EVER said a word about the incident. That was 59 years ago - - I have NEVER forgotten it. Every Bull I see - that flashes through my head!

I hope that answers your question, Mac!
