That is because today they only teach abstract concepts that have nothing to do with real life... too many kids are too far "removed" from a home life that has parents that actually teach manners and everyday skills to FUNCTION, and they are too worried about kids having an ability to IDENTIFY with some of the 99 different genders they have come up with rather than learning basic getting along with people skills.

SAD.... But maybe some kids would actually get a little help from this and turn the corner for them to learn what we all grew up learning as a matter of day to day living in a family... regardless of whether it was a mom and dad or grandparents or cousins or what... we learned how to function and what was needed to be a decent human being.
 
I would think this add is a joke but, judging from the kids we hire at the business I'd say it's a must have these days.

At one time these subjects were taught in the home by parents. Now parents are too busy trucking their kids around to extracurricular activities.
 
Its weird how some just don't know. We hired a brilliant young lady (from NYC) when computers were just getting started in small businesses. We knew nothing and needed help.
Problem was, she stunk bad ... as in having a odor. We debated how to let her know. Finally one Friday afternoon we drew straws and the loser just told her the truth. It shocked her and embarrassed her to say the least. We didn't think she would be back on Monday but she was and we never had a issue with her again.
She is still with the company some 25 years later and since she was issued some stock at a small 20 man company that now employs 500, she is well off and smells just lovely.
 
Most would be good idea but I do wonder about a couple. The one which caught my attention was "professional dress". Which profession and who decides how they should dress? I do have a suit which I bought about 16 years ago. I have worn in exactly 3 times (2 weddings and a funeral). On my job I had regular dealings adn meetings with state senators, director of the dept of Agriculture, state commissions and committees. I never wore a tie wasn't expected to. All three of the men in the picture are wearing ties. The world has become considerably less formal. Nicer, newer, and clean clothes but not so much with the suit and tie.

Professional dress does not mean a suit and tie.

They just need to be taught the person cutting the check or who fires them decides the dress. No one at work cares about your causes or what you do it at home. Leave it there and do your job.

This add is scary. 50 years ago it would have seemed this add was written for someone from another planet. Nowdays.......our kids might as well be aliens it often seems, so its sad, but now its applicable.

What is scary is these kids don't have an adult at home to teach them these things. Like I said in another post, this is a breakdown of multiple generations. It didn't happen over night.

It's the degredation of American society as a whole. Each generation gets a little worse and more accepting of things that weren't tolerated before.

I was at a high school football game last week and the kid in front of me was probably 10 yrs old. The way he was sitting was blocking the aisle. I can't count the number of people that ask him to move or inched around him. Everytime he'd move an inch or two and then move back into the aisle. His mother was sitting next to him and there was enough room for 2 adults between them. She never said a word to him. To me the problem with him is the lazy disrespectful 35 yo woman raising him. I don’t know her parents but I'd guess they would be 55-60? Did they raise her like that? When did the teaching stop?

I don't like saying it... but society has changed to a mind-your-own-business mind set to an extreme. In the past you could have leaned over to the parents and suggested they correct the kid's behavior and the people around you would have approved. And the parents would have thought nothing of you other than thanking you for pointing out their lack of attention.

Today the parents would get huffy and likely get in your face for criticizing them, and the people witnessing the exchange would be protective of the parents and kid.

I think it might have started when the TV became a baby sitter. Now its gotten more advanced with cell phones actually being the baby sitter and now interacting with the next generation. You think things are bad now......just wait.

From some people I work with, who deal with healthcare and are masters-educated (which doesn’t mean squat apparently), some lesson regarding professional dress and actions were lacking. Young men in sloppy T-shirts, socks, and crocs is not something I would consider professional in a healthcare setting dealing with patients and families. “Professional” is definitely role dependent, but collared shirts and full shoes would be a bare minimum for most occupations. Heck, even McDonalds has some requirements…🙄
