I know alot of you order parts online. I've never done this , I'm a little leery of it. I like dealing with a person. It makes me uncomfortable to put my credit card# in a computer. But looking at the price difference , maybe I ought to give it a whirl. Who do you deal with, how long to get your order? What about returns?... Thanks
 
I have order a number of tractor and equipment parts on line with no problem. I tend to use the major suppliers. If unsure, I call and talk to someone first. Great convenience, especially for those hard to find parts. In the east, Messicks is a good place for tractor parts, but you might find someone closer. I've only used their expedited shipping a couple times because I had hay down. Good luck.

Immediately the Ford pcm on the neighboring thread.
Also needing a set of injectors for a dodge diesel.
Got several vehicles, and pieces of equipment. All old and well used. I always need something. Rock auto is half price on the injectors. Its also appealing that it gets delivered to you. 60 miles round trip to parts store.
 
I order things online all the time, from a variety of retailers. I’ve never had a problem. I always make sure to use a credit card rather than a debit card, just in case. Like you said, between the prices and convenience, it’s hard to beat.

all the above, and FWIW I ship everything to my office in town it usually takes a day off delivery to the boon docks. I have access to a lot of parts in town every day if its not an emergency repair I order it online and receive it in a couple days. Wheel rake teeth in town are anywhere from 2.50 to 4 bucks a tooth. I order from stevens tractor at 1.50 each a significant savings imo

I order 99% of all my parts online and have used several different places. Always use a low limit credit card like kingfisher said. I found I can buy better quality parts cheaper for my truck and atv vs the local places. I also order parts for chainsaw, lawnmower, tractor. I do have to feel very confident the part I am ordering is correct. What I don't want to deal with is returns, wrong parts etc. I have had real good success.
 
I buy lots of parts and materials online. Delivery is surprisingly quick with most things and the transport depots know me now and always let me know when they come in. For most things I use Paypal which takes a lot of risk out of it.

I've used BikeBandit for my motorcycle parts.. The parts were FAR cheaper than the OEM ($100 vs $350), and they were delivered to my doorstep in 3 days, the dealer would have been 10 days... I don't LIKE it, but it seems that we're being forced to put our purchases online... local dealers are often gouging, and don't stock *anything* anymore... Local bike shop DOESN'T CARRY HANDLEGRIPS... seriously!
 
You might as well order online here, the parts stores don't keep what you need anyway. If I gotta wait to get it, I might as well buy it for 1/3 the price.
