opinions? (pic)

you could sell her open at a breeder cattle sale and announce that she is holstein x angus and could be used as a nurse cow, etc or advertise as that for private treaty

or sell her bred to an angus. a lot of people tend to shy away from bred heifers b/c of calving problems and not knowing for sure what she is bred to.

i would sell her open i think.

Thanks for the opinions. Stocky - ;-) If someone wanted to ship her to Florida I suppose I wouldn't have a problem with it, just doesn't make much $en$e to me, given the distance. But then who am I to judge? LOL. =)

When would be the best time to sell her, if I were selling her open? most folks around here calve from February to early April, so the bulls go in with the cows...May to July or so. Do I try to sell her now, or wait until closer to the breeding season?

She is current on vaccinations and I suppose she could be kicked out to pasture with the bull as soon as she's offloaded; don't know- do most folks like to keep new stock separate for a few weeks?

Current auction prices are around $1.00/lb to $1.15/lb or so for beef heifers in her weight class...where does she fall? If she's ~660lbs now, that's averaging a hair over $700, if she goes by those prices. Now...that a logical price for a heifer like this, or is she worth significantly more or less? I honestly have no idea. LOL. Now, if she were straight holstein I could put a dollar amount on her easily.
