When I saw your original post I thought you were talking 30's, 40's and 50's but everyone started putting up newer ones.

This thread has been interesting to say the least. Different folks depending on their age have vastly different ideas of what's Old Timey. Here's what it means to me.

I think that after seeing O Brother Where Art thou we all know kinda what that means. Chances are they are songs we listened to or even played with our Parents or Grandparents. I thought we might have some fun posting some of those songs that we all grew up with. Those of you from other countries feel free to join in. Anazazi Alison and Chrisy and for sure the Aussies.

Allison and Patsy (Cline) are the same for me. I love them, and I'm sorry they suffered so much for men. Lord have mercy on me, but I have a tolerance of ONE SONG from those gals. Martina, too. She's like the Facebook friend who re-posts all the missing children on the whole planet.

Good stuff Van. I really like the Glen Miller. Played a ton of that Big Band stuff in school. Good Polka too. We used to drive up to Crested Butte Colo in the 60's before it became a world class Ski area and drink beer and polka at Tony's Tavern. Music provided by Beaver Struna on the squeezebox(good memories there)
