You guys talked about the dimmer switch being on the "floor board". Well ......

A few years ago when the dimmer switch started making its way up the steering wheel stalk they started having a lot of accidents up in College Station (Texas A&M for you folks from Tenn). The Texas DPS investigated the accidents and determined they were caused by the Aggies getting their left foot caught in the steering wheel.

My first truck was a 1957 Chevy Apache starter was on the floor, master cylinder was under the floor board as well. Had an oil bath air filter used a roll of toliet paper for the oil filter. If I remember correctly had a 252 straight six with three on the tree.

Had to drive an uncles newer car to his house from another city about two hours away. I hadn't been driving that long and anything I had driven was pretty old. Started the trip just about dusk so turned on the headlights, that just happened to be on high beam. Couldn't find the dimmer switch for the life of me. Wasn't in the usual place, even pulled over to look and see where the hell they might have placed it. Of course I'm only looking on the floor board and next to the light switch. Single lane highway and of course every oncoming car was flashing their brights at me. I finally get to his house and as I signal to turn into the driveway I must have pulled back on the signal lever a bit and magically the headlights went from bright to dim. If only the driver had gone from dim to bright at the begining of the trip. :dunce:
