 I now have 3 bottle calves, the first being the one I
sunk all the money in. She has immature bowel syndrome and after 2 weeks has just now a normal appetite and is off all meds. She can not tolerate milk replacer and drinks whole
milk from the grocery. The second was a twin the cow
rejected. This one is feisty and healthy. No problems with her.
The newest arrival is also a twin . A neighbor gave him to me after he decided he did not have the time to fool with it. The
calf did not recieve any colostrum( he was born friday). The calf is big, 90 lbs. He is septic, has a fever, will not suck.
I am tubing him, have him on Banamine and baytril. He was tested before I got him and he needs a plasma transfusion
like my first one got( $ over 500.00) Not going to happen.
I will do all I can here on the farm for him, but he did not
look so hot this am. All I can do is try :::: :frowns:
