Not to beat a dead horse, but

Help Support CattleToday:

I'd bet money that farmer just came out of a milking parlor after rubbing up against more than one cow in heat.

I must have missed that thread!

Yes indeed, they will try to mount a human. I've had show calves try it before. When you spend that much time around them, they don't know the difference I suppose. :cboy:

Ive seen cows try to mount.
The cow is usually in heat.
I've almost had it happen to me, with one of my show heifers.
The one time that I saw it, it was at a show, in the waiting arena.

Just as well, it ended with someone calling me a pervert and the thread got locked and parts deleted after I responded.

Now here is another statement I made that seemed to trip some people's trigger.

If you want a good indication as to the success of the bull during breeding, watch the cow not the bull.
If the bull has done his job correctly, after the dismount the cow will stand still and arch her back.
Now note the cows back before and after breeding.

PS: Whom ever sent those addys to me, thank you! ;-)

SL that was on another post a couple of months ago. As far as the debate about cows mounting humans I don't recall anyone saying that is not true. The previous discussion that I recall was your post about bulls going after women who are ovulating. Which still needs evidence behind the claim.

I agree with Somms statement I bet that poor guy had just been exposed to cow/cows in heat and had urine or some fluids on him. Also he could have just finished AI'ing a few cows.

I think almost anyone that has been around a lot of cows especially young heifers in a confined space like a dairy set up has had at one time or another a hoof/hooves make contact with the back of their shoulders ;-) .

Also the gal doing the narrating needs a kindergarten book about boys and girls since when do girls have penis's  .

HD,
I'm not a groin-a-coligist so all I know is what little I have learned over the years.
Read this about Estrous cycle vs menstrual cycle.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Estrus
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flehmen_response
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Estrogen

During the menstrual cycle or estrous cycle, the endometrium grows to a thick, blood vessel rich, glandular tissue layer.
The endometrial lining undergoes cyclic regeneration. Humans and the great apes display the menstrual cycle, whereas most other mammals are subject to an estrous cycle. In both cases, the endometrium initially proliferates under the influence of estrogen.
While estrogens are present in both men and women, they are usually present at significantly higher levels in women of reproductive age.
Estradiol levels vary through the menstrual cycle, with levels highest just before ovulation.

It sounds to me that there is not a whole lot of difference between humans and other mammals when it comes to estrogen secreation.
But what do I know!
