Pulled irrigation dams two weeks ago. Another week and we should be in haying mode. Some looks pretty good.

When that water is gone the rest of Morrison Meadow is dry. Should be gone in 5 to 7 days if this heat holds.

Yes it is. A weed that produces well with only water and the cows winter on it well if baled early. We had some last year go 13% protein. Later it can drop to 6, that is why we feed pea screenings pellets.

It hasn't rained in 5 days here and this is what my field conditions are. But in the previous 25 days we have had just over 22" of rainfall.

Is there ever been a year you couldn't get hay up? That would be a disaster.

I've made plenty of hay in September/October and even November once just because that's when we could get into the fields.
