There is service provided I think by the NRCS called Snowtel. They measure snow levels and the water equivalent in the snow. This way they can help to determine what irrigation will be available this year. Our little watershed is lumped together with 2 others. The measuring sites are all by name (Smith meadow, etc). I only recognize one of the name on the 19 sites listed. One the things posted is the percent of normal for this date. Lots of the sites are in the 20 to 30 percent of normal. The average of all the sites is 43%. We better get some snow in the mountains fairly soon or it is going to be a mighty dry summer.
