I was told that if you put ammonia sulfate and urea down and it doesn't rain for a week you just lose all nitrogen to evaportation. Is this true? I heard ammonia nitrate lasted longer on the ground, but I can't get it without buying a ton at a time.
All? The amount and speed of N loss is depends on a number of factors. Temperature, wind, humidity. This time of the year, sitting on top of the ground with no rain to wash it in, you will have significant losses of N.
So I wonder if it is put out on a field in humidity over 80% whether it would evaporate or absorb moisture and sink down into the ground?
Either way it would appear to dissapear
