Night time rocket launch

Help Support CattleToday:

Could you hear the sound of the 1st stage rocket motors from your location?

Thanks for posting the video Hook.

I'm beginning to wonder if SpaceX will ever get the South Tx launch site completed and operational. It's supposed to be for their BFR, so I guess they have time, since that vehicle hasn't yet been built. I may not live long enough to go down the coast and see a launch from there.

We just got back from watching the spacex launch at the cape. Our badges got us on the base, and we parked next to the vehicle assembly building (VAB).
One of the coolest things I've gotten to do in my life.
Enjoy the video

Hook Space X has a test site about 60 miles from me (closer the way the crow flies) and it rattles every window in the house when they test one of those rocket engine....can't imagine living close by.

That's cool. How far away were you?
Probably 4 miles as the crow flies

I figured you were pretty far away since the engine was going when the video started and it still took awhile for the sound to get to you. It's amazing that it's still so loud four miles away.
