I was after Axis and Sika.
I did shoot an Axis knuckle head and a management Whitetail for meat.
Most of the Axis were in velvet. The ones that weren’t were exceptionally good at using Whitetail as a shield.
Shot three Whitetail at the house one really nice buck that went 198 on the hoof.

Wow sounds like things started hoping at the end of the season. Never heard of many big ones killed out this way.

TB his antlers were nothing to brag about, a little over 13 inches wide.
He was whipping the snot out of a buck about 18 inches wide in my back pasture. I have a state biologist that lives up the road, he aged him 5.5 to 6 years old.
