we recently had a heifer calf born that has a little pink thing handing down from her vulva... we're thinking it's probably her undeveloped uterus/horns - can anyone confirm and/or know if this can be corrected? we're thinking 'it's off to the sale barn', but would appreciate the knowledge.

Is it interior from the vulva or exterior? Exterior from the bottom I would lean towards a heifer that was born or at least carried as twin to a bull, interior I have no idea.

dun

sorry, showing my ignorance there.... i googled 'freemartin' and now know what you're both speaking of. interesting. i've been saying all along that we needed to get a spotter bull.... maybe he/she is a keeper after all!
